Corona Diaries 9—Who is that masked man?

Papa Corona Cowboy

He’s somebody who gives a $hit. To clarify. Every time I go out in public, I’m wearing the mask. I’m not wearing it to protect myself. It doesn’t work that way. I’m wearing it to protect you and demonstrate that I am a good citizen. We should ALL be wearing them. Hell, I have a system full of peppy CV-19 antibodies and probably have more justification to not wear it than anybody. But I’ll wear it because if we all mask up, there will be fewer coronavirus cases. That’s the physics and biology of it.

Spec fog

When I mentioned on Facebook what a foggin’ pain in the specs masks are, I got a good dozen home remedies everything from downward breathing, kleenex at the nose bridge, to cut up nylons (wife ixnayed that one), to shaving cream and Rainex.

Mama Coronakiller–We know why she masks up.

She returns to work exactly one month later. If you ever wake up in an ER or have to sit in a chemotherapy chair, this is the kind face you want smiling over you. Even if you can’t see the mouth, you can tell by the eyes. You know you’re in good hands, even if they’re gloved.

5/12 Update: My Asian friends have talked about the ubiquitous use of masks in their cultures. They see it as a social compact and are shocked that we don’t. This from Vanity Fair is what would happen if “only 80% of us” complied.
